OUR BRAND VALUES*

Olives have been cultivated for over four generations at Podere Renuccioli, first by the Mateuzzi familyand since 2010 by the Blanchard family. The lure of the Tuscan dream drew the Blanchards to this stunning valley in the foot hills of the Mugello Mountains and in the shadow of Fiesole. A revitalised love of nature and the land grew into a passion for the land that was acquired this Tuscan home. The magic of Olive Oil and that of the land apparent during the first family harvests, the respect and importance of our embracing of that process and appreciation by the local community as "foreigners" embracing Italian food culture, of which Olive Oil, Extra Virgin in particular, sits central to. We harvest by hand or hand held "agitators" each Autumn, and press and bottle in one of the two local presses or Frantoio. Olive Oil natures gift or "Medicina", (Medicine) as the Romans termed it.

OUR COMMITMENTS*

Sustainability

Our approach is of minimal intervention, attempting to be as environmentally sensitive as possible. Organic fertilisers are utilised when required. Grasses cut annually but only after wild flowers have flowered and grasses have died back to seed. Biodiversity is encouraged which our post flowering cut and mulch assists with. Environmental considerations are central to the families approach.

Environment

We use no irrigation in our process, we mulch grass and pruned branches. We ceased all burning of the product of pruning since 2011. We tray to maintain a broad diversity of grasses and herbs in our fields and groves and allow wild flowers to seed before cutting to encourage proliferation of diversity..

Local Communities

We utilise locally recruited staff to assist when required, for harvest and use local pressing facilities within a 15km radius.

Packaging & Waste

We switched to metal cans in 2019 from Glass, for the benefit of the product. Committed to plastic use reduction and minimisation.

Inspiring & Educating

Students from the Royal Ag University have been involved in previous harvests.

Energy Reduction

We make efficiency savings where ever possible and ask the same of our partners.

Nutritional Values

Omega 3, Polyphenols, Good ( HDL ) Cholesterol and reduces impact of the Bad ( LDL ) Cholesterol.
