Acutely aware of the delicate balance of the earth, the team are committed to be mindful of the environmental impact of our restaurant. We recycle where we can, source biodegradable disposables, our ingredients are ethically sourced and seasonal where ever possible. We take immense pride in sourcing from the very best farms and the waters around Great Britain.
We are mindful of the environment – working with our suppliers to source locally sourced food where possible. We are based in an area of outstanding natural beauty and do all we can to promote the local area, in particular the National Trust property, Farnborough Hall, in the same village where we are located.
We employ a team of chefs and front of house staff from the local community and support local fundraising initiatives through our bar and restaurant. We source all of our produce from local suppliers and distributors which enables us to support the local economy.
Packaging & Waste
We recycle packaging and also return packaging to our suppliers for them to re-use or recycle. We use paper straws in the bar and recycle all of our glass bottles and cardboard. We are very aware of the impact waste has on the environment and do all we can to minimise waste and actively encourage our suppliers to do the same.
Inspiring & Educating
At The Kitchen we take enormous pride in inspiring and educating our customers about what is in season and do all we can to produce dishes using local and seasonal produce. We have our own Kitchen garden so our customers can experience first hand what is in season and our smaller guests love picking our veg which is then served with their meal! We have a hugely experienced and skilled workforce and we take great pride in training junior members of our team. In particular, training junior chefs to be able to prepare everything from scratch that features on our menu.
The team at The Kitchen does all it can to reduce our energy consumption, in particular by buying new equipment that has lower energy usage, as a priority.
The team at The Kitchen spends a great deal of time planning menus that offer healthy alternatives and cater for the needs of all dietary requirements on our menus, in fact our vegan dishes are becoming increasingly popular. We ensure that all our dishes our well balanced and not overloaded! Quality over quantity is definitely our mantra in all we do.
Not ApplicableAnimal welfare is the single most important factor for us when sourcing meat and dairy products. We use free range eggs at all times. We have always used the best possible Royal Warrant Holding Butcher that has an impeccable record in monitoring the animal husbandry standards from all of it’s suppliers. We have also visited the farms from where they source their meat.
