OUR BRAND VALUES*

Deep in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, amidst dry stone walls and rolling fields, the ladies of Cotswold Fudge Co and Cotswold Tuck Box create melt in the mouth confectionery using old fashioned recipes, ‘the way your mother used to make it’. Jen and Sarah started making fudge a few years ago, selling it at local fairs and into local farm shops, delicatessens and garden centres. Before long, fudge fever took hold and soon the fudge was being sold into a broad array of independent retailers and tourist venues across the Cotswolds. Not content to stop at fudge, they then started making other traditional confectionery and Cotswold Tuck Box was launched. Their 100% scrumptious fudge and old fashioned confections are made entirely by hand; never using any additives or preservatives and source the freshest ingredients to create the crumbly style fudge. As the business has grown, they have stayed true to their values – everything produced by the team is made with Fairtrade ingredients and carries the Fairtrade Mark

OUR COMMITMENTS*

Sustainability

At Cotswold Fudge Co, we are totally committed to the principles of Fairtrade; all of our products are made from Fairtrade ingredients and carry the Fairtrade mark, making us one of the very few 100% Fairtrade companies in the UK. Fairtrade is not just about ensuring small scale producers are paid a fair price for their work, or just about reinvestment in community projects, it is also about Environmental protection and training that promotes environmental sustainability

Environment

Sustainable practices are embedded in Fairtrade standards; they are beneficial to the environment, and increase the standard of living and reduce vulnerability for farmers and workers. This covers key areas such as energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction, soil and water quality, pest management, biodiversity protection, prohibition of genetically modified organisms and harmful chemicals, and waste management. We at Cotswold Fudge Co are committed to environmental sustainability not only through our use of Fairtrade ingredients, but the power we use is 100% from renewable sources

Local Communities

We support a number of local charities and schools with donations of fudge and hampers for fundraising and promotions all year round, but especially around Fairtrade Fortnight

Packaging & Waste

We use very minimal packaging on our products - a simple cello bag and card header, both of which are fully recyclable (where facilities exist), hence minimising the waste produced, while keeping our products safe and attractive to consumers

Nutritional Values

The nutritional values vary from flavour to flavour, but can be accessed online via our website www.cotswoldfudgeco.co.uk, and are of course printed on our packaging. Needless to say, our fudge is mostly made from sugar, syrup, condensed milk and butter, so is rather calorific!! Best eaten in moderation!
